Voluntary & Participation Discontinued

Pursuant to recent legislation, effective for the 2024 Plan Year and all future plan years, Citizens’ Regular Assessment has been discontinued.

Additionally, carriers subject to Citizens’ Regular Assessment are no longer required to submit policyholder premium information to Citizens through the Participation System and the Voluntary Premium Reporting System, which will be deactivated by February 15, 2024.

Note: This change affects the Regular Assessment only and does not impact Citizens’ Emergency Assessment, which can be levied over multiple years for both Citizens and non-Citizens policyholders.

The Participation System allows companies to report their premium data online, in compliance with 627.351(6)(b)3.b., Florida Statutes. Carriers subject to Citizens’ Regular Assessment are no longer required to submit policyholder premium information to Citizens through the Participation System. All future inquiries should be directed to participation@citizensfla.com.

Voluntary System

The Voluntary Premium Reporting System allows Florida insurance companies to submit their total written policy premiums for the wind-only eligibility area in exchange for credit against potential future Citizens assessments. Participating carriers are no longer required to report their written policy premiums through the Voluntary Premium Reporting System. All future inquiries should be directed to voluntarysubmission@citizensfla.com.
